TD, Cong won’t come to power
YSR Congress party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila said neither the Congress nor the TDP will be voted to power if a mid-term election is held to the state assembly.
Speaking at an impromptu public meeting at Karnapapaiah Palle as part of her fifth day Padayatra in YSR district on Monday, Sharmila said despite its capacity to throw the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government out by introducing no-confidence motion in the assembly, the TDP chose to keep silent knowing full well that neither TDP nor the Congress will come to power.
Naidu knows that YSRCP will win the polls and its president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will become the Chief Minister, she said, adding that for this reason only Naidu has chosen to protect the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government which has failed on all fronts.
Lambasting Naidu for not doing anything for farmers during his regime, Sharmila said Naidu visited the families of those policemen who fired on the agitators and killed three persons during the anti-power hike agitation in 2000.
Sharmila also came down heavily on the Congress Government for watering down the welfare schemes introduced by YSR and called up on the people to teach both Congress and TDP a fitting lesson during the forthcoming elections.
