  • Government’s vengeance towards opposition leaders
  • Readiness of YSRCP leaders for anything to get SCS
  • No fear for TDP’s threats
  • YSRCP’s fight on behalf of people
  • YSRCP MLAs slam the Government

HyderabadAssembly privilege committee took up inquiry on the MLAs who questioned in the assembly during the last sessions about special category status. Among the 12 MLAs who had received notices from the privilege committee, Korumutla Srinivasulu, Dadisetty Raja, Jaggireddy and Rachamallu Siva Prasad Reddy presented themselves in front of the committee today, while the others stated personal reasons for their absence.

The committee is going to find out the opinions of MLAs Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy (Macharla), Alla Ramakrishna Reddy (Mangalagiri), Budi Muthyala Naidu (Madugula), M.Sunil Kumar (Poothalapattu) and Kambala Jogulu (Rajam) on Wednesday. TDP is degrading the honour of the assembly by suppressing the voice of the opposition that is fighting in demand of the sanction of special category status. It is vengefully trying to hinder people’s problems from coming to discussion in the assembly.

Is it wrong to fight for SCS?: Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy

MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy questioned the Government if it was wrong to fight for the special category status that was the right of the people of AP. Speaking to the media after privilege committee inquiry, he reminded that YSRCP had only peacefully protested in demand for discussion on special category status in the last assembly sessions and that the MLAs had not, in any way, hindered the duties of the speaker of the assembly or other employees or MLAs of the house. Complaining that the Government had vengefully sent notices to the opposition party MLAs, he mentioned that he had given explanation to the privilege committee about what had happened on the day. Peddireddy also made it clear that they would continue to fight on behalf of people irrespective of any disturbances created on the way and added that they would not bend to any kind of threats.

People’s opinion is ultimate: Rachamallu Siva Prasad Reddy

Five crore people of AP state were waiting for the sanction of special category status and their opinion and wish was ultimate for YSRCP, mentioned the party’s MLA Rachamallu Siva Prasad Reddy. Declaring his readiness to take any punishment for the sake of achievement of SCS for the state, he stated that they had only demanded for discussion regarding SCS in the assembly, as he spoke to the media after attending the privilege committee meeting. He criticised that the privilege committee had targeted them as per CM Chandrababu’s instructions to file cases per PD act. Rachamallu said that the Government seemed to be under the impression that others would be scared if some of the MLAs were suspended and would stop fighting. He specified that nobody had violated the assembly’s privilege and that they had only stressed on the fact that the future of lakhs of people of the state lay in the sanction of special category status. Rachamallu remarked that privilege committee’s existence was actually to protect the rights of the MLAs, but not to punish those who fought for a good cause.
