YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister Sharmila, along with her mother and party honourary president Smt. Y.S. Vijayamma and other family members left for Idupulapaya in Kadapa district on Wednesday from Hyderabad ahead of the Maro Praja Prasthanam beginning Oct 18.

Meanwhile, Idupulapaya is geared up to witness the launching of the historical Yatra aimed at highlighting the Government’s failures and anti-people policies besides the conspiracy hatched against Jagan by the ruling Congress and the opposition TDP.

Sharmila, wearing a black badge, is scheduled to begin the 3000 km walkathon ‘Maro Praja Prasthanam’ Padayatra on Thursday from Idupulapaya after paying homage to YSR at his Samadhi.

The Yatra, which is a mass contact programme of the party, will witness Sharmila’s interaction with villagers wherein she will get firsthand knowledge of the sufferings of the people during the course of the Yatra.

Sharmila will meet different segments of the people and try to assess their problems emanating from the anti people policies of the Government.

The mega Yatra, which will span over more than six months, will take off soon after an all religious prayer meeting at YSR Samadhi. The event will be attended by, among others, party MPs, MLAs, MLCs, political affairs committee members and senior leaders.

Party leaders will hold parleys prior to the Yatra to discuss the finer things of the Yatra and related issues.

Thousands of party activists and Jagan fans are also expected to participate in the event and accompany the Yatra which is expected to begin around noon. Sharmila and other leaders will address a massive public meeting later in the evening at Vempally.
