Kesampeta (Mahabubnagar district), Dec 8, 2012: Coming down heavily on TRS president K. Chandrasekhara Rao for abdicating his responsibility as an MP from Mahabubnagar, Smt. Sharmila asked him whether he was not feeling ashamed of his constituency’s problems that remained unsolved.

“KCR has been representing Mahabubnagar constituency in Parliament besides being the president of TRS. But he seemed to be not caring for the problems of the people here. There is drinking water scarcity and crops have dried up due to lack of power supply. Students turned into daily labourers because of the dilution of fee reimbursement scheme. Are you not feeling ashamed of the plight of the people?” she asked KCR during her address at a huge public meeting at Kesampeta on Friday.

YSR injected life into villages

Reacting to TDP president Chandrababu Naidu’s comments on YSR statues, she said while Naidu had transformed all villages into useless entities during his 9-year rule, Dr. YSR injected life into them during his 5-year rule.  “Whenever people see YSR statues they remember his welfare schemes,” she observed.

We also see NTR statues here and there in villages and when people see those statues, they remember Naidu’s backstabbing of NTR, she said.

Later at a Rachchabanda interaction with women at Kakunuru, former village Sarpanch Chandrakala told Smt. Sharmila that the village received a fund of Rs.1 Cr during the YSR period but failed to get even Rs.1 lakh in the last three years.

Smt. Sharmila, who has been undertaking Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on behalf of YSR Congress chief Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, has so far completed a distance of 724.30 km as on 51st day on Friday.
