Ravikampadu (WG) May 17, 2013: Asserting that she has not been undertaking Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra for the purpose of records, Smt. Sharmila said the aim of her walkathon is to enlighten the people on the injustice being done to the YSRCP chief Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and to the YSR family.

Addressing a mammoth gathering of people at Ravikampadu in West Godaari district Thursday evening on the eve of her completing 2000 km of Padayatra, she said the Congress, which came to power twice with the mercy of Dr YSR, has been throwing mud on the YSR family after conspiring with the TDP.

“Maro Praja Prasthanam is an extension of YSR’s Praja Prasthanam and this battle will continue till the demons are defeated in the next elections with the weapon called ‘vote’. We will have celebrations and festivities when the Rajanna Rajyam is established under the leadership of Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy,” she said.

The very Congress leaders who extolled YSR’s leadership backstabbed him after his death by including his name in the FIR, she said, adding the Congress leaders have conspired with the TDP and jailed the YSRCP chief through the back door method of using the CBI against him unable to face him on the political front.

Smt. Sharmila said TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, knowing full well that his party and Congress would be defeated in the elections, had extended support to the Congress Government on the no-trust vote. “He doesn’t want immediate elections and hence his support to the Kiran Government,” she said.

Vijayamma lashes out at CBI

Addressing the crowd, YSR Congress Party honourary president Smt. Vijayamma lashed out at the CBI for applying different yardsticks for different people in investigating the cases.

Saying that CBI had removed the name of Rajiv Gandhi from the Bofors charge sheet after his death, she said it however added the name of YSR in the FIR after his death adopting a different yardstick.

“CBI has adopted a different yardstick each in case of Mopidevi, Dharmana, Sabita, Chiranjeevi, Chandrababu Naidu and Mulayam’s daughter-in-law and Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy,” she said and asked the agency: “It is almost a year since he has been jailed and how long will you keep him in jail further?”

Smt. Vijayamma described the Kiran Kumar-led Congress Government as part 2 of Naidu regime during which 4000 farmers committed suicide unable to bear the harassment of the Government over non-payment of dues.
