Questioning the sarcasm of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy over his remarks that YSRCP chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has gone to jail not for the sake of people, Jagan’s sister Sharmila replied that Jagan was sent to jail by the conspiracy of Congress and TDP which feared a grave threat to their existence from his growing mass appeal and popularity.

Addressing a public meeting at Jalli Palle in Anantapuram district as part of her Maro Praja Prasthanam on 15th day on Thursday, Sharmila said Jagan struggled and fought on behalf of women, farmers, students, handloom workers and poor people being in constant touch with people.

“Fearing for your political existence due to his growing mass popularity, you conspired with TDP and CBI and jailed him. Don’t you know that?” Sharmila asked Kiran Kumar.

Castigating Kiran Kumar for his comments, Sharmila recalled the statement of Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad that Jagan wouldn’t have faced the present troubles if he had continued in the Congress Party and said the statement proved Jagan’s jailing was a conspiracy.

“What is the meaning of Azad’s statement? Doesn’t it mean that you have jailed Jagan intentionally? Doesn’t it mean that you are making efforts to ensure he is denied bail?” Sharmila asked.

Asserting YSR family can boldly say that Jagan didn’t commit any crime, Sharmila remarked one day Jagan will come out of jail unscathed. “You have to teach a fitting lesson to Congress and TDP,” she told people at the public meeting.
