Sharmila brands Govt as inhuman
Nadargul (Ranga Reddy dt) Dec 14, 2012: Branding the Kiran Kumar Reddy-led Congress Government as inhuman, Smt. Sharmila lamented that the people were being subjected to financial hardships with ever increasing power bills and RTC bus charges and revoking of monthly pensions.
The government has been supplying power for hardly four hours a day to the households but the power bills have gone up four fold in the last three years, she told a gathering of women at a Rachchabanda programme at Nadargul in Ibrahimpatnam Mandalam of Ranga Reddy district on Friday.
Her diatribe against the Government was in response to the anxiety expressed by women over their inflated power bills. A woman told Smt. Sharmila that she used to get a monthly power bill of Rs.120 during the YSR regime but now it has gone up to Rs.500. “We don’t know how to pay these bills and how to live,” the woman expressed her distress.
Another old lady narrated her family suffering of not being paid the monthly pension of Rs.500 to her blind husband since Sept 2011.”Life has become very difficult for me,” she said in sobs.
Smt. Sharmila told them that there was never an increase of power bills or RTC charges during the regime of Dr. YSR. “But Chandrababu Naidu hiked the power bills 8 times in his 9-year rule and not lagging behind, the Congress Government has hiked it thrice in the last three years,” Smt. Sharmila remarked, adding that the Government has turned into an inhuman entity with no concern for the problems of the poor.
