Hyderabad, Oct 9, 2012: TDP got a major blow in the Telangana region when its senior leader and former MLA Sankineni Venkateswara Rao said he would soon announce his decision on joining the YSRCP after discussing with his followers and supporters.

TDP leadership suspended Venkateswara Rao immediately after the latter called on YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in the Chanchalguda jail on Monday.

Venkateswara Rao, party vice-president presently, has been associated with the TDP ever since its inception in 1983 and worked as Tungaturti Agricultural Market Committee Chairman in the past. For some years, he was also in the inner circle of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.

Venkateswara Rao told newspersons after meeting Jagan he would soon take a decision on joining the YSRCP after discussing the issue with party workers and his supporters. He said TDP MPs met Chidambaram in Delhi on Oct 4 with the tacit permission of Naidu only to seek attachment of Jagan’s properties. “Naidu has been indulging in dirty politics,” he alleged.
