Roar For Special Status – Bandh Successful

Proclaiming special category status was the right of people of AP, YSRCP leader Surya Prakash Rao held bandh in front of RTC bus depot in Rajahmundry. Certain activists voluntarily joined YSRCP woman leader Sharmila Reddy in holding bandh. In Gokavaram, Jaggampeta, Anaparthi, YSRC leaders Prasad and coordinators of Jaggampeta and Anaparthi constituencies, Muthyala Srinivas, Suryanarayana held the bandh successfully. In front of RTC depot of razole, YSRCP ;eaders Bonthu Rajeswara Rao and Viswaroop held agitations. At Korampudi, Vijayalakshmi holding bandh and 20 activists were moved to the police station. At Mandapet, YSRCP coordinator Leela Krishna held bandh. Kadiyapulanka coordinator Veeraraju led blockade of highway. YSRCP state secretary Gutthula Sai supervised bandh at Munnidivaram. Dharnas are being held all over.

At Pulivendula, MP Avinash Reddy held protests against union and state Governments for special category status. At bus stand of Pulivendula, YSRCP activists halted buses. Business units voluntarily stayed closed. At Jammalamadugu, Sudheer Reddy held agitations. At the RTC depot of Jammalamadugu, activists hindered buses. Kadapa city mayor Suresh Babu was arrested by the police, as he was staging agitation. Former MLC Pochamreddy Subbareddy, city party president Nityananda Reddy and certain left party leaders were arrested by the police and taken to RIMS police station.

AP bandh intended to be conducted by YSRCP in demand for special category status is going on successfully in Vijayawada. Business units and stores were kept closed. Certain YSRCP leaders were arrested in advance by the police. As YSRCP leaders held huge dharnas since early morning in front of RTC depots, the buses stayed back in depots. Leader Udayabhanu was arrested in Jaggayyapeta. Coordinator Ramachandra Rao held bandh in Hanuman Junction while MLA Meka Pratap Apparao held it in Nuzivid in front of RTC depot. The police arrested Apparao as well as 25 activists. At Nandigama, the police house arrested certain leaders in advance. City president of Vijayawada Vangaveeti Radha and Parthasarathy led a bike rally and were arrested by the police along with some more leaders. Mylavaram constituency’s in-charge Jogi Ramesh criticised that Chandrababu was ordering the arrests to weaken the bandh. Perni Nani, YSRCP leader from Machilipatnam was house arrested by the police.

The state bandh called for by YSRCP for the achievement of special category status is going on peacefully. YSRCP leaders Golla Baburao and Siva Kumar held the bandh in Payakaraopeta and were arrested by the police along with some party activists. More arrests are happening in Bheemi. YSRCP CEG member and certain activists were house arrested. At Devarapalli and Narsipatnam, YSRCP leader Satyam supervised the conduction of bandh. The police hindered the bandh and arrested Satyam, Ramakrishna, Lacchababu and 50 more activists. They raised slogans against the tyrannical nature of the police. Giddi Eshwari held agitation at Paderu.
