Nandyal by-poll should be a benchmark
Nandyal, Aug 17: Reiterating that Chandrababu Naidu lacks credibility as he never fulfills the promises he made, YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has appealed to the people to vote for value based politics and set the by-poll as a benchmark for value-based politics.
Addressing a road show here on Thursday as part of his electioneering he said, ‘Credibility is one quality which every leader should have and those who go back on the election promises should be summarily rejected by the ballot.
Chandrababu Naidu has amassed Rs 3.50 lakh crores through corrupt means and is trying to buy the votes distributing notes for votes. His role in the cash for vote case in the neighbouring Telangana state is fresh in the memory of the people,’ he said.
This is an election that will pave way for a healthy trend in politics and I appeal to the voters to give their nod to a candidate and party that has credibility and will stand by their side at all times. Every vote counts and you have to decide the future course of the state, he said.
Chandrababu Naidu has forgotten all the poll promises and has taken many anti-people measures. The pensions were reduced from 21,800 during YSR term to 15,000 after Chandrababu Naidu came to power, he said adding that welfare schemes like Aarogyasri and Fess Reimbursement have been watered down heavily and ration shops are not supplying all the essential commodities now.
The Special Category status has been pushed back for his personal gains and the job opportunities to the youth has taken a back seat. The promise of Rs 2,000 unemployment stipend is also not fulfilled.
Chandrababu Naidu and his cabinet are replaying the old cassette of elections promises made during 2014 polls. He had promised to waive loans of farmers but failed. He said Rs 14,000 crores of loans of DWACRA groups would be waived but went back on the word.
He also promised to close down all the belt shops but did not act on that front, he said. This election should be set a trend with credibility taking the top spot, he said and appealed to the people to vote for YSR Congress candidate.
