Naidu will give up Yatra midway: Owaisi
Lashing out at the TDP president N.Chandrababu Naidu’s ‘Vastunna Meekosam’ padayatra, MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi said people would not believe Naidu’s Yatra as it is only meant to regain his lost political power.
Speaking to reporters at the 37th death anniversary of his grandfather M.M.A.Abdul Owaisi in Hyderabad on Wednesday, Owaisi said Naidu began the Yatra to regain his political power. He also predicted Naidu will wind up his Padayatra midway and would not realize his dream of becoming CM again.
Describing the Praja Prasthanam Padayatra of the late YSR as a unique one, Owaisi said no other Yatra can be compared to the YSR’s.
“As YSR undertook the Padayatra in 2003 and came into power 2004, Naidu copied the idea and began his Yatra just to become the CM again,” he said, adding Naidu can’t realize his day dreams.
Observing that there is a basic difference between the two padayatras, Owaisi said YSR undertook the Yatra to know the basic problems of the people directly and this helped him become the CM later.
Naidu, however, began his Yatra just for the sake of power and it won’t be of any use to him, Owaisi said, adding that the Yatras should be undertaken to understand people’s problems and not for attaining political power.
Taking a dig at Naidu’s promise to offer seats to Muslims, he said it is preposterous for Naidu to appease Muslims now. “He implemented no welfare schemes during his 9-year tenure and how can people believe him now?” he asked. “Muslims will drive him away from villages.”
