Naidu’s offer on Dy CMs smells of his party’s defeat

Hyderabad, May 5, 2014: Mocking at TDP president Chandrababu Naidu’s offer to appoint two deputy CMs from BC and Kapu communities, YSR Congress party has asserted today that Naidu has made the jittery offer aiming at their votes as he is haunted by the fear of defeat in the elections.

YSR Congress spokesperson Vasireddy Padma told reporters here that Naidu’s offer on Deputy CM post, which has no constitutional sanctity, is akin to the CM aspirant-character in Dasari Narayana Rao’s satirical movie ‘MLA Edukondalu’ who offers Chief Deputy CM post for a rival MLA to defect to his side to facilitate his becoming CM.

Naidu’s gimmickry of using the Deputy CM card for votes and seats will not curry favour with the Kapus and BCs who are solidly backing YSR Congress party, she said. “If you are so sincere about the offer, why didn’t you give proper representation to BCs and Kapus in the allotment of tickets first of all,” she asked him, adding that the two communities will not fall prey to Naidu’s fake promises.

Padma said Naidu has offered CM post to BCs in Telangana where TDP is going to be defeated and Deputy CM posts for BCs and Kapus in Seemandhra where his party’s count will not reach even a double digit.

Taking umbrage of remarks by TDP-backed BC leaders that YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy has had no administrative experience, Padma retorted saying that leaders like Jayalalita, Naveen Patnayak and NTR also had no experience before they became CMs.

“Even BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Modi also had no experience before becoming the CM. Jagan Mohan Reddy has had the experience of taking on bigwigs like Sonia and others,” she said.

Stating that actor Pawan Kalyan has been shedding crocodile tears over the way division has taken place and blaming Jagan Mohan Reddy for the bifurcation, Padma reminded him that state division took place with the full backing of TDP, BJP and his brother and Uniion Minister Chiranjeevi.

“Where were you when Chiranjeevi gave letter in favour of Telangana at the all party meeting conducted by the then CM Rosaiah on Dec 7, 2009?” she asked him.

Padma also strongly condemned the actor’s statement that Jagan Mohan Reddy will ensure elimination of political rivals if he comes to power and said it was Chandrababu Naidu who had stained his hands with blood.

Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga, Pingali Dasaradha Ram and several others were eliminated during the TDP rule, she said, stating it is ridiculous that the actor is making baseless allegations like a mad cap standing beside a person whose history is questionable and murky.

Terming as false the arguments of TDP leaders and their captive media that it was Naidu who developed the state, she said Naidu failed to fill the revenue deficit of Rs.20,000 Cr during his regime.

“It was Naidu who ensured that the worth of the Government’s properties went down to 43 per cent during his regime while YSR took it to 120 per cent after taking over as CM,” she said.

Padma warned that after coming to power, YSRCP Government will order a probe into distribution of money and liquor by TDP to buy votes. “We will probe from where you are getting the money and who is financing you?”
