Naidu-Cong collusion exposed, avers Vijayamma
Hyderabad, March 15, 2013: Expressing sadness for serving notice of no-confidence motion against the Government which was brought into power by Dr.YSR, YSR Congress honourary president Smt. Y.S. Vijayamma on Friday decried the dilution of welfare schemes introduced by him.
Participating in the debate over no-confidence motion for which notice was given by the YSRCP on Thursday, Smt. Vijayamma charged the Opposition Leader Chandrababu Naidu with colluding with the Congress Government and supporting its anti-people policies.
“It is first time in world history that an opposition leader has refused to vote for the no-confidence motion,” she said, observing that the stance of TDP only revealed the tacit understanding it has entered into with the ruling party.
Pointing out that the state has been facing two calamities, Smt. Vijayamma said while one of the two is natural, the other one is Governmental. “The power charges are high but the power supply hours are less. What is this?” she wondered, expressing the fear that all systems and organizations are facing the threat of holiday today.
She said that the state has been plunged into an unprecedented power crisis in the last 50 years because of the unpreparedness of the state Government. “The Government says there is no coal or gas to generate power,” she said asking the Government why it has not taken any preventive steps to lessen the intensity of the power crisis. “Due to Government’s negligence, 20 lakh families are on roads,” she remarked.
What have you done for the Neelam cyclone victims?
Expressing anxiety over the distressed condition of farmers in the state, Smt. Vijayamma asked the Government to reveal the financial help extended to the victims of Neelam cyclone. “What have you done to the farmers?” she asked, adding that the farming community has been undergoing untold suffering after the death of YSR.
She said due to the power crisis, thousands of small and cottage industries were closed and no new industries are coming to the state. “The Government has not done anything to come to the rescue of farmers while they have been suffering with untimely rains over the last 4 years,” she remarked saying that YSR waived farm loans to revive the financial position of the debt-ridden farmers. However, the present Government has failed to waive even the interest on loans let alone waive the principle on loans, she said.
