Naidu ploy to evade poll promises flayed

Hyderabad, May 27, 2014: Taking strong objection to the provocative remarks  of Chandrababu Naidu at his party Mahanadu meeting, YSR Congress has said, this is a ploy to evade the poll promise and divert the attention of the people but as a responsible opposition Party we will see to it that the promises made during elections are addressed to in toto.  

“Chandrababu Naidu making a special mention that political adversaries were killed after YSR came to power is highly provocative and he is setting the agenda for the days to come. The killers of YSR’s father had taken refuge in Naidu’s house and the TDP leader has the history of eliminating political adversaries and anyone who goes against him,” YSRCP spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao told reporters here on Tuesday.  

Political opponents and TDP leaders were also eliminated at the behest of Chandrababu Naidu and history carries in its pages the gruesome killing of a powerful leader of a particular community in the heart of Vijayawada city, the murder of a journalist and an IAS officer. All these were described as the handiwork of people in power during TDP regime. The Party also has a history of creating killers and eliminating them like Mallela Babji who sprang up from nowhere and vanished into the thin air after getting undue publicity, he said.  

Speaking of elimination of political adversaries from the Mahanadu plank, indicates the situation that would arise in the days to come and as a prelude there were attacks on YSRCP cadre and sympathizers in East Godavari where a 70 year old was killed for casting his vote against TDP, in Gopavaram in the same district, Khammam, Guntur and Krishna districts there were attacks on YSRCP cadre.  

“We will not take things lying low and will take up all issue at the appropriate forum and challenge the TDP in all its undemocratic acts. We have increased our voting by 400 % and with people on our side we will ensure that TDP does not shirk its responsibility and keep away from the poll promises as farmers are eagerly waiting for the loan waiver with agriculture season fast approaching.  

Naidu telling his cadre that YSRCP is against the waiver of farm loans is ridiculous. It was YSR who has brought in a lion’s share of 13,000 crores to the state of the Rs 64,000 crore farm loan waiver nationwide.  

The TDP seems to be in search for a way out to escape the waiver scheme as Prime Minister Narender Modi made no mention of it in his speech nor was it thoroughly spoke of in the Mahanadu, but we will take up the issue at every possible platform to highlight the deception of Naidu, he said.  

To sum up, the Mahanadu has focused on four issues, how to keep the cadre in dark, how to weaken the opposition, how best Modi mask can be used and to show empty coffers when the question of poll promises come up.  

All said and done, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the rising star while Naidu is a fading façade and in the coming days will show who stands where, he said.
