Kurnool, Nov 19, 2012: Sharmila, who has been undertaking Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on behalf of YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, said it was bad on part of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy for not having mentioned the name of YSR at the inauguration of Handri-Neeva irrigation project.

Speaking to the people of C. Belagal and Polakal villages in Kodumuru assembly constituency of Kurnool district as part of her walkathon on Sunday, Sharmila turned emotional about Handri- Neeva project and found fault with Kiran Kumar for not mentioning YSR’s name.

“Handri-Neeva is YSR’s dream project. YSR spent Rs.4800 Cr to complete 95 percent of the project and this Government took three years to spend Rs.40 Cr for completing the balance 5 percent works,” she said, adding CM mentioned names of others but avoided mentioning YSR’s name.

“Can’t you remember YSR name at the time of inauguration, at least when water flowed from the project?” she asked. “It is unfortunate that the CM has not followed the minimum courtesy of remembering the name of a person who struggled to complete the project.”

Finding fault with the CM for his failure to mention the efforts of YSR in completing the much-sought after project in Rayalaseema, Sharmila said the development has only revealed the amount of hatred nurtured by Congress rulers against YSR.

“If YSR had not made you the Speaker, you would not have become the CM today. YSR continues to rule the hearts of the masses despite your efforts to erase his memories from people’s hearts,” Sharmila told Kiran Kumar Reddy.
