Hyderabad, Feb 24, 2014: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would resume his Odarpu Yatra in Telangana and address a public meeting in Khammam district soon putting at rest the false propaganda that YSR Congress has lost its base in Telangana region.

“A decision to this effect was taken at the Telangana district coordinators review meeting chaired by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He would be undertaking the unfinished Odarpu yatra in the all the nine Telagnana districts, barring Khammam where he completed the tour,” Party spokespersons Gattu Ramachandra Rao and Janak Prasad told reporters here on Monday.

The dates and tour details would be announced shortly they said and scoffed the false propaganda that the Party has no base in Telangana region. On the contrary as YSR is admired as the best Chief Minister by over 63 % of the people in the region who were directly benefitted by his welfare schemes.

“YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would console about 250 families in the Telangana region as part of his Odarpu Yatra which would begin with a public meeting at Khammam.

Setting aside the loose talk of TRS MLA T Harish Rao that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy cannot enter Telangana, they said, in a democratic set-up every citizen is free to tour any party of the country. We were of the opinion that development could be possible only in a united state while your party has thought otherwise.

Difference of opinion in political thought need not refrain from Political Parties to carry out their respective agenda. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has consoled over 700 families that lost a member on hearing the news YSR death and as a responsible son, he has visited all the families to express sympathy.

While so many youth have given up their lives during Telangana agitation, did the TRS President or leaders ever visit any one house and console the family members. Such remarks from Harish Rao come only out of the fear that their base may erode and YSRCP will get a thumping response, they said.

We know how to balance development and welfare. Since a decision has been taken on Telangana, the focus should now shift towards development and YSRCP is going ahead on those lines, unlike other parties that are thinking in political terms of mergers and tie-ups.

The Party cadre is enthusiastic and is looking forward for the public meeting and Odarpu Yatra.

On Chandrababu Naidu’s oft repeated remarks that there is a tie-up with Congress as YSRCP is going soft on Sonia Gandhi, they said: “it is Chandrababu Naidu who has been saving Congress at the Centre and State and he has been carrying out orders from 10 Janpath, which has become TDP high command of late. On the other hand people are the high command of YSRCP.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy could dare question Sonia Gandhi on many counts and has called her a dictator. There are many people who have benefitted out of YSR welfare schemes, including farmers, students, women, and old people while Jagan has a good following in Telangana and our Party will emerge as a strong force in the region, they said.

The merger experiment of Cong and TRS is bound to fail as difference of opinion would crop up but YSRCP will have a strong leadership to tide over any crisis, they said.
