I will revoke Kakarapally power project
Tekkali, April 5, 2014: YSR Congress Party President Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday announced he will do away with the Thermal Power Station at Kakarapally in Srikakulam district proposed by the East Coast Energy Private Ltd soon after coming to power.
“I will revoke the Kakarapally thermal power project on the second day of my assuming power as CM,” he told a sea of humanity at the YSR Jana Bheri public meeting at Tekkali in Srikakulam district Thursday evening.
Jagan Mohan Reddy also promised to include fishermen, Boya and Vaddera communities in the lit of STs. “I already assured you I will include these communities in STs and I will keep my promise,” he told the mammoth gathering amid thunderous applause.
Reiterating his strong commitment to usher in the YSR’s golden era after coming to power, he reminded people that the forthcoming elections are going to change their destiny.
“The coming elections will change your destiny and you have to be careful while exercising your franchise. Don’t be taken away by the fake promises of TDP president Chandrababu Naidu,”
Castigating Naidu over his impracticable poll promises offering everything free to people, Jagan Mohan Reddy found fault with his promise of creating over 3.5 Cr jobs for the youth in the state. “After India gained freedom, only 20 lakh jobs were created till date in the state. How can Chandrababu create 3.5 Cr jobs overnight?” he asked.
You should elect a leader who will think of your good, your welfare, your economic progress and who will permanently stay in your hearts, he appealed to them. Asserting that he is not making non-implementable promises like Chandrababu, he said he will implement all his assurances, come what may.
“I will first sign the files that will grant Rs.1000 pm to two kids together in a family for going to school under Amma Vodi scheme, Rs. 750 monthly pension each to the old, widows and the disabled, establish an agricultural stabilization fund with an amount of Rs.3000 Cr,” he declared and added: ‘I will also announce waiver of DWCKRA loans of women, bring administration at your door step, build 50 lakh houses for the poor, restructure the Arogya Sri Scheme, build super specialty hospitals in all districts, restore 7-hour free power supply during day time for farmers, remove all belt shops, appoint women as village policewomen, supply power to the poor at Rs.100 up to 150 units a month and providing employment to all youth.”
