Nalgonda, Feb 13, 2013: Smt. Y. S. Sharmila, who has been continuing her Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra in Nalgonda district, expressed deep anxiety over the gross negligence of the villages and hamlets by Kiran Kumar Reddy-led Congress Government.

Addressing a mammoth public meeting at Kanagal in the district on the 64th day of Padayatra on Tuesday, Smt. Sharmila said the hamlets and villages are weeping loud and bigger as they have gone dry without water and power.

“There is no one to take care of the villages. Where ever I go, I only see tears in people’s eyes as 108, 104 and Arogya Sri medical services have been abandoned by the Government.

“While the farmers are being denied free power supply to their agricultural lands, they are also suffering losses in the absence of reasonable MSP (Minimum Support Price) for their agricultural produce,” she said, adding that the rural students are also giving up studies midway as the Government has diluted the fee reimbursement scheme which was once successfully implemented by Dr. YSR.

Smt. Sharmila, who has been undertaking the Padayatra on behalf of YSR Congress Party chief Sri Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, said it was unfortunate that the Congress leaders are making rounds to Delhi to protect their political power while leaving people to their fate.

She said the Government has also been collecting an interest of Rs. 2 to Rs.3 on loans extended to women. “The Congress leaders are helping their colleagues besides TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu but not the people,” she said in a sarcastic vein.
