Gowraram (Nalgonda district) Feb 14, 2013: Accusing TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu of victimizing the farmers during his regime as CM, Smt. Y. S. Sharmila has said that 4000 farmers had committed suicide unable to bear his victimization.

Interacting with women and farmers at a Rachchabanda programme at Gowraram in Nalgonda district on the 65th day of her Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on Wednesday, Smt. Sharmila said that Naidu has been extending support to the anti-people polices of the Congress Government for his selfish political ends.

“Only TDP supporters were benefited during the regime of Chandrababu Naidu,” she told the Rachchabanda gathering, adding that farmers were the worst sufferers when Naidu ruled the state.

Reiterating her assurance to the people that all their problems would be solved when YSRCP assumes power under the leadership of its president Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy, Sharmila sought the blessings of the people for him.

“He came out of the Congress to stand by people, serve the people and usher in the YSR Raj. If you bless him, not only your village but all villages in the state will be developed in all respects,” she told them.

Listing out their problems, women and farmers told her they were getting hefty power bills despite hardly a three-hour supply of power daily. “There is no proper drinking water supply in most of the villages here, let alone talk of other facilities such as roads,” women and farmers complained.

Assuring people that Jagan Mohan Reddy will continue the Abhaya Hastam scheme after assuming power, she told them that pensions would be increased to Rs.700 and Rs.1000 for the aged and the handicapped respectively from the present Rs. 200 besides reducing the power tariff.
