CBI acting as Centre’s puppet: Sharmila
Guntur, March 21, 2013: Smt. Y. S. Sharmila, who has been undertaking Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on behalf YSRCP chief Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, has said the CBI raids on DMK leader M. K. Stalin have once again proved that the investigation agency is a puppet in the hands of Centre.
Continuing her Padayatra from Tenali town of Guntur district on the 97th day on Thursday, Smt. Sharmila said the CBI raids within 24 hours of the withdrawal of support to the UPA Government by DMK have proved the often repeated charge that CBI only works at the behest of the powers that be.
Quoting from the former CBI director Joginder Singh’s interview to The Sunday Guardian in which he said that CBI was always subjected to political interference by the Government, she said Joginder’s assertion has been proved right many a time. “The CBI has stopped the raids within hours of initiating them as there is widespread protest across the country,” she said, adding the agency has been dancing to the tunes of the Congress. “Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy has been arrested in this manner only.”
Accompanied by Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy’s wife Smt.Y.S.Bharati, she walked the Tenali-Mangalagiri road greeting and interacting with people who lined up across the road. People, especially women and college students, vied with each other in shaking hands with both of them.
Smt. Sharmila stopped at several places and addressed droves of people criticizing the Congress for using CBI as its puppet for its political purposes. She will rest for the night at Duggirala after walking a distance of 14.2 km during the day.
