Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Sunday issued summons to  telecom service providers in connection with phone tapping incident in the cash for vote scam. The service providers were asked to present at Bhavani Puram Police station on Monday. Few of the representatives of the telecom service providers attended in police station and give the details to the police officers. No serious details are disclosed with this investigation.

The summons  were issued following a complaint by Telugu Desam Party minister Devineni Uma that their leaders’ phones were tapped by Telangana police.

Ever since the audio tape containing the conversation of Chandrababu Naidu with Stephenson was aired, the TDP has been blaming the Telangana government and police of illegally tapping TDP leaders’ phones.

AP CID issued summons to the telecom operators even after Telangana ACB Chief A K Khan and Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy clarified that none of the TDP leaders phones were tapped.
