Adopt united state resolution: YSRCP

, Dec 13, 2013: Demanding the Congress Government to adopt a resolution against the State bifurcation in the Assembly, YSR Congress has said that a special session should be convened to discuss the draft Bill.

“We demand that a special assembly session should be convened to discuss the draft Bill sent by the Centre on the division of the State, but before that the House should take up the resolution on keeping the State united and adopt it,” party senior leader Konatala Ramakrishna told reporters here on Friday.

Our Party honorary President YS Vijayamma has given notice for the resolution and it should be taken up immediately for discussion and the draft Bill which has many figures and clauses needs to be studied in detail which is time-consuming. Hence it should be taken up in a special session, he said.

Congress leader Digvijay Singh has been telling that TRS will merge with Congress after the Bill is passed which shows that the State is being divided for political reasons and not according to the will of the people. “To know the wish of the people the assembly should first move a resolution against the division in the ongoing session, have a discussion and adopt the resolution.”

Chief Minister and Chandrababu Naidu have been helping the Congress in expediting the division process. Kiran Kumar Reddy has kept everyone in the dark about his real intentions but his deeds have always been in favour of the division and to please the high command. The Leader of Opposition too has been sailing in the same boat.

“Today Naidu is speaking in a higher pitch, but he did not take back the letter he has given accepting the bifurcation, he  did not depose before the GoM and tell them that there is no equal justice in the division.

What he is speaking is only for public consumption as he has whole heartedly extended his support to Congress high command to evade the arrest in the numerous corruption charges against him,’ Ramakrishna said.

The talk of Kiran Kumar Reddy floating a new party is doing the rounds. Only those who help Congress and secretly desire to split the State will be going for a new party. Digvijay Singh who has come to town as an emissary has his own agenda of rushing through the Bill.

Digvijay Singh saying that Congress will not go back on its word and YSRCP has been taken a U-turn is total falsehood. Congress cannot disown former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi speaking of integrated State of .

He should know about the earlier resolution of CWC that a second SRC should be constituted. Though the first SRC has agreed for bifurcating Vidarbha, the Centre takes no steps in that direction. Uttar Pradesh government has passed an assembly resolution to split the state into four, but the Centre makes no move in that direction.

In 2004 before elections, Congress has said that it would decide on Telangana issue after arriving at a consensus and in 2009 it has appointed K Rosaiah Committee to discuss the pros and cons of the division and has included nine issues as terms of reference.

Then came the Sri Krishna Committee Report. The Centre has pushed all these documents aside and is going at a high speed to split the State for political gains, without taking the assembly into consideration and without bothering about the sentiments of the local people.

YSR Congress has been opposing the division from the beginning and will continue to do so. Digvijay Singh saying that our Party has agreed to the division is wrong. When P Chidambaram has announced about the State formation on December 9, 2009 YSR Congress was not existent.

Digvijay Singh who has seen the division of Madhya Pradesh, should also follow the same procedure of taking assembly into confidence or else Congress will be whipped out as in his own State, he said.

The division is undemocratic and very authoritarian in nature. Andhra Pradesh that has given good number of MPs to the Centre is being split for political reasons without considering the long term consequences. Digvijay Singh reiterating that TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu is his friend is evident from the way Naidu has been helping Congress on various counts.
