Hyderabad, Sept 7, 2012: Expressing their concern over the reports that the Centre is about to take a pro-Telangana decision before this month end, ten Congress MPs from AP met Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Thursday and requested him to keep the state united.

The MPs’ meeting with the PM comes in the wake of TRS president K.Chandrasekhara Rao’s announcement that the Centre would take a positive decision on Telangana formation in the next few days.

The delegation of MPs included Venkatarami Reddy, Dr Killi Kruparani and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao.

In a memorandum submitted to the PM, the MPs stressed the need to keep the state united. “All regions of the state will prosper if it is kept united. The state has witnessed unprecedented development after independence and it will continue to progress if undivided,” they said in their memorandum.

The MPs’ meeting with the PM lasted for 15 minutes. “We are hopeful that the Centre will decide against bifurcation,”  the MPs said after the meeting.
