YS Jagan will complete Velugonda project in a year

Prakasam: Former MP YV Subba Reddy flayed the 23 YSRCP MLAs who switched over to the TDP and clearly stated that they will not be accepted into the party if they want to, he added. Talking to the media, he questioned as to why the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was scared by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) taking over the probe of the murder attack on Leader of opposition and YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Along with Chandrababu many leaders were also involved in the case, is what one can infer with his behaviour, he added. The YSRCP leader added with the High Court's decision to shift the investigation to the NIA instilled confidence in the people and the YSRCP Party that justice will be delivered. He added that this attack happened with the knowledge of the senior leadership in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Talking about doubling the pension amount by Chandrababu just before the polls he said that it is nothing but an election stunt and it is doubtful whether Chandrababu can implement this ,he said. YV Subba Reddy added, that he was not aware of former Minister Purandeswari joining the party, but if she wants to join YSRCP we will certainly welcome her, he added.

He took pot shots at Chandrababu that the Veligonda project was supposed to be completed by this Sankranti as Chandrababu promised, but it is not yet completed, he added. It may recollected that the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy had agreed to name the Veligonda project after the CPI leader Poola Subbaiah from Prakasam District.

The project will bring 43 tmc ft Krishna water from Srisailam through an 18-km-long tunnel in Nallamala hills to the Velugonda reservoir, which will irrigate more than 4.38-lakh acres in the drought-prone areas of Prakasam district and also supply drinking water to 15 lakh people in 29 mandals. He assured the public that if YS Jagan becomes the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, then the project will be completed in a year.
