YS Jagan’s Podili visit marred by police security failure, a deliberate conspiracy

Tadepalli, June 12: Former MLA Kasu Mahesh Reddy condemned Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for orchestrating deliberate security failures during former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to Podili to support tobacco farmers. Asserting that the government’s negligence was intentional, Naidu fostered a factionalist mindset and conspired to undermine YS Jagan’s public outreach.
“The government’s refusal to provide adequate security to a Z-plus category leader like YS Jagan, while deploying 200 police personnel to protect 40 protesters, exposes Chandrababu’s malicious intent,” Reddy stated, highlighting the stark disparity in security arrangements.
Mahesh emphasized that Jagan’s visit drew thousands of farmers, women, and youth, who gathered voluntarily to voice their grievances, turning Podili into a sea of public support. He lambasted the police for acting as “mere spectators” while disruptive elements backed by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) hurled stones at Jagan’s convoy. “Chandrababu’s administration is intolerant of Jagan raising people’s issues. Instead of addressing farmers’ concerns, the government resorts to petty politics and provocative tactics,” Reddy charged, accusing the TDP of using women as shields to stage protests and create unrest.
The former MLA underscored Jagan’s unwavering commitment to the people, stating, “Whether in power or not, YS Jagan stands firmly with the public, fighting for justice.” He contrasted Jagan’s leadership with Naidu’s governance, stating that schemes like Cheyutha, Aasara, and Kapu Nestham, which empowered women under YSRCP rule, have been halted since Naidu assumed office. Reddy also criticized the government’s failure to implement its “Super Six” promises, noting that the state has incurred over Rs. 1.5 lakh crore in debt without delivering on a single scheme. “Only after Jagan’s advocacy for farmers did the government hurriedly announce the Thalli Ki Vandanam scheme, yet it plans to exclude 20 lakh children from its benefits, deceiving women,” he added.
Mahesh warned that the YSRCP would not be deterred by conspiracies or smear campaigns. “Chandrababu’s tactics, including risking the lives of his workers for political games, reflect his desperation. Our disciplined cadre refrained from retaliation despite provocations, but the public will not forgive such deceit,” he asserted. He called on the government to focus on resolving people’s issues and ensuring law and order instead of stifling dissent. “YS Jagan’s fight is for all farmers, not just YSRCP supporters, and no amount of obstruction will stop him from championing their cause,” Reddy concluded.
