Village Secretariats Extension Of Spandana : YS Jagan

AMARAVATI : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy asserted that 82.5 % of the Village secretary jobs were bagged by marginalised sections of the society and said that Village Secretariats are an extension of Spandana.

During the short discussion on Village Secretariats the Chief Minister said that the exams were conducted in a fair and professional manner and the functioning reflects transparency of the governance.

Thanking the officials for the conduct of the fair and transparent manner in which the recruitment was done, he said unlike the previous Janmabhoomi committees, here is a system in place that will take the welfare measures and services of the government to the doors of the beneficiaries.

This apart, 2.65 lakh village volunteers were also appointed and there are checks and balances with a toll free number directly linked to the Chief Minister’s Office to deal with any charge of corruption. We have set up one village secretariat for a population of 2,000 people.

The village secretariats function on the lines of Spandana, which is reviewed every Tuesday. It is an extension of the Spandana on a daily basis at village level, he said adding that social audit comes to the fore with the list of beneficiaries being displayed at the Village Secretariat.

The list of those who are not eligible and the grounds of rejection along with the procedure to apply afresh will also be available at the Secretariat, he said.
