Tadepalli, March 9,: At a crucial state-level meeting of the YSR Congress Party's Booth Committee Wing held at the party central office in Tadepalli, senior leaders emphasized the need for utmost alertness during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. The meeting, attended by zonal in-charges, district presidents, and district-level booth committee presidents, focused on countering potential irregularities by the ruling party and ensuring no YSRCP sympathizers' votes are illegally removed.
Party State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, highlighted the critical role of booth committees in this process. He stressed that with advancing technology, which can both aid and enable fraud, party workers must remain highly vigilant. "We must work meticulously to protect existing genuine votes, prevent the addition of bogus voters, and safeguard our party's supporters from arbitrary deletions," he said. Recalling the 2019 elections, when the then TDP government allegedly deleted around 40 lakh votes of YSRCP sympathizers through house-to-house surveys, he warned of similar tactics now, including reports of secretariat staff initiating such activities in Andhra Pradesh, akin to ongoing surveys in Telangana.
Sajjala called for heightened precautions and suggested forming special task forces if necessary, involving booth-level leaders to create a robust system from the state level down. This would help thwart any attempts by the ruling party to manipulate the rolls and ensure fair representation ahead of future elections.
YSRCP General Secretary Lella Appireddy, echoed the call for alertness against the ruling party's aggressive tactics targeting YSRCP cadres. He underscored the booth committees' responsibility in scrutinizing the revision process, protecting voters up to the polling booth, and building toward the 2029 elections. With the party's strong 16 lakh-strong network, he urged unity in advancing the vision of party leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, promising recognition for dedicated workers and a renewed push to bring YSRCP back to power through collective hard work.
