TDP removing names from voters list

YSR Congress party

Amaravati: Under the garb of conducting a survey Telugu Desam party is removing the names of people from the voter list, based on replies to their questions. The survey was undertaken by Centre for Socio-Political Analysis, a Bengaluru-based entity. The survey it is said is being conducted on the orders of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and is reportedly being monitored directly by his son and IT minister of AP, Nara Lokesh.

This incident came into light as the devices (tabs) being used for the survey were earlier used for Pushakaralu, it is learnt. A Telugu youth leader is reportedly supervising the ten-member team of surveyors. Apparently, they are being paid Rs 1000 per person along with lodging and boarding.

All the tabs are reportedly linked to the monitoring centre in Amaravati. Once the data is received about voters against the government their names are taken off the rolls, it is learnt. The survey team is directly working under Nara Lokesh, according to YSR Congress party leaders.

In the Vizianagaram district, some youths who were conducting the survey and collecting the details of the voters, have been identified, YSRCP leaders objected to these surveys saying that these surveys have a connection with the phone calls being received by the people from Chandrababu about his performance in administration.

As the surveyors were noting down the details of voters, who replied against the government, YSRCP leaders suspected them and complained to the police. YSRCP leaders demanded that the police take strict action against these people conducting surveys with voters' list which is against the law.

YSRCP leaders and supporters in the district staged a protest against the survey. A shaken police took YSRCP district coordinator Majji Srinivas Rao into custody and shifted him to the Jami police station.
