TDP betrays BCs

Amaravati : Criticising the former finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu for his remarks, Minister for BC Welfare Ch Venugopalakrishna said that the State government had turned Backward Classes (BCs) as Backbone Classes in 26 month of governance, while they were betrayed during TDP rule.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, the Minister rubbished Yanamala's remarks and said that the previous TDP government had betrayed BC’s and used them only as a vote bank during elections. He said that the TDP government had never really bothered for the upliftment of BCs and came up with fake promises just before the elections. He said that the government had achieved a lot more in the 26 month governance than that of 26 year TDP rule which gravely neglected BCs without implementing any scheme for their development.
In this regard, the Minister criticized TDP for falsely propagating that BC’s are being abandoned in this government. Unlike the previous government, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had implemented many welfare schemes like Amma Vodi, Rythu Bharosa, Aasara, Cheyutha, Matsakara Bharosa and stood by the weaker sections at all times. In the past 26 months, the government had provided almost Rs 1,04,241 crore through DBT, where Rs 50315 crore was given to BCs alone and another Rs 1,40,438 crore was spent through non-DBT schemes benefitting SC, ST, BC and Minorities.
He said the Chief Minister has given top priority of BCs, who had established 56 BC corporations for a total of 136 castes, sixty percent of Cabinet berths, 83 percent of jobs in Village and Ward secretariats were given to BC, SC, ST and Minorities. He stated that the government has been providing welfare schemes and benefits directly from the Chief Minister to common man, in a most transparent way and added that the previous government had benefited only TDP members, hardly one in 1000 ratio.
