Tadepalli, May 26: YSRCP State General Secretary Gadikota Srikanth Reddy strongly criticised the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government for resorting to personal attacks, character assassination, and diversion politics to hide its complete failure in governance over the last two years. Speaking at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, he said the government has failed to implement even a single major election promise and is now targeting YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, YSRCP leaders, and even family members instead of answering public questions.
Srikanth Reddy said the coalition government has already accumulated nearly Rs.3.5 lakh crore in debt in less than two years while failing to implement welfare promises made to women, unemployed youth, pensioners, employees, and weaker sections. He accused the government of spreading false propaganda about YSRCP’s borrowings to escape accountability. He stated that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy treated the manifesto like a sacred commitment and implemented welfare schemes transparently, whereas the present government is only engaging in political diversion and personal attacks.
He alleged that the government is trying to silence every questioning voice through police harassment, false cases, and intimidation. Referring to deteriorating law and order, Srikanth Reddy said crimes against women and girls have increased sharply while the government remains silent. He criticised Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for remaining silent despite previously speaking about missing women in the State. He also referred to incidents like the Rashid murder in Vinukonda and increasing faction politics, stating that the government is deliberately encouraging fear and violence.
The YSRCP leader accused ministers of abandoning governance entirely and spending their time attacking YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and making derogatory remarks against late leaders YS Rajasekhara Reddy and Raja Reddy. He said YSR was the leader who eradicated factionism and Naxalism in Rayalaseema through welfare-oriented governance and peace initiatives, while Chandrababu Naidu politically benefited from divisions and factional conflicts.
Srikanth Reddy highlighted YSR’s contributions including Aarogyasri, fee reimbursement, pensions, irrigation projects, and infrastructure development, and said leaders like Payyavula Keshav speaking disrespectfully about YSR only reflects political desperation and moral decline within the ruling coalition.
He further criticised the government for failing to provide new pensions, unemployment assistance, promised benefits to women, and welfare support to SC, ST, BC, and minority communities. He said the coalition government has weakened institutions, ignored Rayalaseema’s interests, stalled key regional projects, and is using personal attacks only because it cannot answer questions on governance failures.
Warning the coalition government against continuing “cheap and vindictive politics,” Srikanth Reddy said democracy cannot survive if governments misuse institutions to crush dissent and intimidate opposition voices.
