Make Village Secretariats Operational By October 2: YS Jagan

Amaravati: Emphasising that Village Secretariats play an important role under the YSRCP government, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy ordered District Collectors to ensure that all preparations were in place before they become operational from October 2 onwards.

He issued these instructions during the video conference held here on Tuesday to review Spandana grievance redressal programme with District Collectors and SPs. Every Monday, all government offices in the State from Collectorates to MRO offices are involved in receiving complaints from people directly and resolving them at the earliest. People hand in their complaints directly to the authorities concerned.

Continuing with the intention behind the Village Secretariats, the CM said: "Every Collector should treat these Village Secretariats as a baby. It should serve towards people's satisfaction. All government schemes and initiatives should be delivered in an effective manner."

YS Jagan said henceforth all cards including ration and pension cards would be given to eligible within 72 hours through Village Secretariats. He underscored that the Village Secretariat mechanism should win the confidence of people through its work and efficiency.

The Chief Minister pointed out that about one lakh candidates per district were attending the exams being conducted for the recruitment to the posts in Village Secretariats. Therefore, he asked the officials concerned to make all the necessary arrangements so as not to cause inconvenience to the candidates.

YS Jagan also spoke on wide-ranging issues including midday meals in schools, availability of sand, and efforts to be taken up in drought prone areas. He asked officials to work with commitment and ensure that people attach a great level of trust and credibility to Spandana initiative.
