I am joining YSRCP along with my son: Daggubati Venkateswar Rao 

Hyderabad: In what could be seen as a significant development crowning the political events of the past few days, during which many Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders were leaving the party fold and joining the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) , senior leader, former minister and the eldest son-in-law of TDP founder N T Rama Rao, Daggubati Venkateswar Rao and his son Hithesh Chenchuram, are all set to join the YSRCP formally. Both father and son came and met YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his Lotus Pond residence on Sunday afternoon. Speaking to the media after the meeting, he said that his son Hithesh would work with YS Jagan and that YS Jagan had undergone many hardships over the past two years and that God would certainly give respite. He remarked that the people of Andhra Pradesh would crown YS Jagan's efforts for the state, with success.He also said that YS Jagan welcomed their decision to join the party. Speaking about the state of affairs in Andhra Pradesh , Daggubati said that the governance has gone off track and criticised the way Chandrababu Naidu was functioning in the state. Claiming that there was no money in the state coffers, he questioned how the chief minister could waste money on Deekshas and protests. Chandrababu has not waived the farm loans nor paid the money, till date, he criticised.

Referring to the post- dated cheques to be distributed to DWCRA women , he said that he had never seen anything so strange in his life and that said that it was wrong to woo voters with these cheques that too just before the elections and it was is not politically correct either, he said.

When asked about his wife Daggubati Purandeshwari continuing in BJP , he said that she may continue in the party or if need be based on the family's decision may also move on, but as of now, he said that he would be joining the YSRCP along with his son.

Daggubati a seasoned politician was invited into the Congress fold by the late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy before the 2004 elections and contested from the Parchur constituency in 2004 and 2009 and won both the elections.
