*Dastagiri murder used for Diversion*

Kadapa, April 25: YSRCP YSR Kadapa District President Ravindranath Reddy criticised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for resorting to diversionary politics by misusing the Dastagiri murder case to cover up governance failures and target the YSRCP leadership. Speaking at the party office in Kadapa, he stated that Dastagiri, a BC leader associated with YSRCP, was killed due to personal enmity, yet instead of ensuring justice to the victim’s family, the Chief Minister is attempting to politicize the incident and shift blame onto the opposition. He stated that a coordinated campaign is being carried out through sections of the media with fabricated stories to malign YSRCP and assassinate the character of former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Ravindranath Reddy criticized the government for failing to deliver on its election promises while engaging in what he described as systematic propaganda. He questioned whether the investigation is being influenced by media narratives, pointing out that despite having no connection to the case, YSRCP leaders are being deliberately targeted. He termed it shameful that instead of supporting the bereaved family, the government is indulging in what he called “cheap politics” around the murder.

He further said that the state is witnessing a complete breakdown of governance, with law and order deteriorating and issues like liquor proliferation, drug cases involving ruling party leaders, and rising crimes against women going unchecked. He accused the government of halting key projects like the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project for vested interests, while pushing large-scale privatization of medical colleges, ports, fishing harbours, and roads. He stated that despite nearly two years in power, not a single major election promise has been fulfilled, even as the state has been burdened with debts amounting to Rs.2.56 lakh crore.

Highlighting alleged corruption, he claimed that thousands of crores are being siphoned off in the name of mobilization advances in Amaravati, while valuable lands in Visakhapatnam are being handed over to benamis at throwaway prices. He also pointed to farmer distress due to lack of remunerative prices, pending fee reimbursement dues, absence of unemployment allowance, and delays in clearing Aarogyasri bills, which have forced network hospitals to protest. Stating that no section of society is satisfied under the current regime, he accused the Chief Minister of using diversion tactics like the Dastagiri case to shift public focus away from these failures. He concluded that people are growing increasingly disillusioned and will respond decisively at the appropriate time.
