Coalition parties’ debt propaganda a systematic crime, exposed in assembly

Former Minister Sake Sailajanath

Tadepalli, March 07: Former Minister Sake Sailajanath condemned the coalition parties for a "systematic crime" of spreading false loan propaganda against the YSRCP government.
Speaking to media here on Friday, he accused the coalition government of deceiving the public with lies, a conspiracy now exposed in the Assembly. He criticized the pre-election claims by Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Purandeswari, who alleged Andhra Pradesh faced economic ruin, likening it to Sri Lanka, with fabricated loan figures varying from Rs. 11 to 14 lakh crore.
Sailajanath cited Assembly data showing the YSRCP left a debt of Rs. 6,46,531 crore by March 2024, far below coalition claims, including Rs. 4,91,734 crore in government loans and Rs. 1,54,797 crore in guaranteed loans. He noted Rs. 2,73,756 crore of YSRCP’s five-year loans went to welfare via DBT, while the coalition borrowed Rs. 1.40 lakh crore in nine months without fulfilling promises like Super Six. He highlighted discrepancies, like the coalition’s white paper claiming Rs. 9.74 lakh crore against the actual Rs. 6,46,531 crore, calculating YSRCP’s net loans at Rs. 3,39,580 crore after deducting the TDP’s Rs. 3,06,951 crore debt from 2019.
He accused the coalition of ongoing lies, questioned their use of Rs. 1.40 lakh crore, including Rs. 60,000 crore for power and Rs. 15,000 crore in true-up charges, and challenged why Pawan Kalyan ignored Chandrababu’s loan complaints. Sailajanath urged the coalition to stop blaming YSRCP, focus on governance, and address their "real economic destruction" instead of misleading the public.
