Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the state police could send a strong message that everyone is equal before law and did not spare even the Department personnel in booking cases.
It takes lot of courage and the Department is high on esteem, credibility and reputation, he said adding that he is very proud of the police that has shown such caliber and it takes a lot to live up to it.
Addressing district SPs through video conference on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh Police stood as a role model in the country by sending a clear message that everyone is equal before the law by pressing charges against police who committed mistakes. The Chief Minister said public will lose respect and belief in police and the credibility of police will go down if they don’t act on crimes committed by their colleagues.
The Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh police have suspended, arrested and booked cases on accused police who have committed crimes and it is something which increases reputation of the Department. Such a thing has never happened before.The message that everyone is equal before the law and police won’t tolerate crimes committed by police personnel and will serve justice to the common people, should be sent to everyone, he said.
