Chandrababu changes his version on BC quota

Amaravati: Chandrababu Naidu changes his version on BC quota like a chameleon when in power and in opposition. During the TDP rule in 2018, he went to the Supreme Court by stating that they are committed for 50 percent quota in local body elections. Today in order to delay the election and incur a financial loss to the State, Chandrababu Naidu intentionally filed an affidavit in Supreme Court challenging the judgement of High Court, said Minister for Marketing, Mopidevi Venkataramana.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, the Minister lambasted Naidu for his cheap politics. “It is our Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was committed to providing equal opportunities for the backward and weaker sections and thus brought 59 % reservations. It is TDP person Birru Pratap Reddy, who moved to the High Court against the government decision. The court gave a judgment limiting the reservations to 50 %. Respecting the Court orders, we have decided to go accordingly rather than wasting time and delaying the elections. However, in contradictory, TDP members moved to the Supreme Court challenging the High Court order.”

It is a clear picture of Chandrababu Naidu’s chameleon’s attitude. All that Naidu wants is to delay the elections and portray that he is concerned about the welfare of BC’s. “If the elections don’t get completed by the end of this month, the State has to suffer a loss of Rs 4000 Crore, which has to come from Union Government under 14th Finance Commission.

This is going to be a huge loss on the State finances, where each constituency would at least get Rs 20 Crore. That is why Chandrababu Naidu wants to delay the elections and make the State suffer. While Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is striving hard for the upliftment of BC’s, TDP has been using them for their political gains all the while.
