*Budget, a bundle of lies*

Tadepalli, Feb 14: YSRCP has termed the State budget for 2026-27 as a bundle of lies which tries to hide more than what it reveals and lacks in sum and substance.

Speaking to media here on Saturday, former Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath  said the tall claims and fudging of figures is blatant as the format of budget book has been changed to extent of covering up its lies and not revealing the comparative financial discipline by providing the mandatory ten year data.

While it speaks high on growth rate and compares it with the Centre, the corresponding rise in revenue is very low which shows that the figures are cooked up and does not stand the security on real time.
One shining example is that of Jal Jivan Mission, the Central scheme. While the Centre has spent Rs 8,500 crore nationwide, the coalition government claims that it has spent Rs 10,000 crore and has taken share of Centre.

The revenue figure of previous year and the revised estimates leave a yawning gap and how the government will fill it in the last quarter is anybody’s guess, he said.

Not a single poll promise has been fulfilled while the loans amount keep mounting and has crossed Rs 3 lakh crore which does not reflect in the budget in any form.
All sections of people feel cheated and they cannot find answers in the budget. Farmers, students, women, unemployed and their problems are not addressed to in the budget in any corner.
The loans, the schemes and allocations all are hidden in some guise or the other.
When compared with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government we have done better despite Covid and our finance management was much better. Yet the coalition still lingers on the previous government and tries to show it in poor light by using choicest words like destructive and obstructive. We have achieved 9 per cent growth rate while the coalition figure stands at just 4.5 percent.
The welfare activity carried out by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the direct distribution of money to the beneficiaries on the dot and setting up village secretariats and village clinics and RBKs has been the hallmark of previous government and all the sections of people are now realizing their mistake.
