Devarakonda ,(Nalgonda dist), Renewing the appeal to join hands to usher in a welfare state, Sharmila has said the numerous welfare schemes rolled out during his tenure, made YSR popular among the multitude of people and he is still remembered for his proactive and Addressing a road show here on Wednesday on the opening day of the Paramarsha Yatra in the district, Sharmila said; ”YSR has always strived for the uplift of the weaker sections and has started a string of welfare schemes without imposing new taxes or increasing any tariff which is the singular reason for winning the hearts of people.

His popularity among the masses has swelled beyond bounds making him a household name and his welfare schemes have benefitted the Telugu people immensely.”  

Resuming the Paramarsha Yatra, which is aimed at completing the unfinished Odarpu Yatra of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Sharmila said :” It was YSR who has implemented the Employment Guarantee scheme in the right spirit, his loan waiver, free power for seven hours, ensuring Minimum Support Price (MSP) and adequate compensation have benefitted the farmers and The fees reimbursement scheme has made education, more so professional courses, accessible to weaker sections. The beneficiaries are now reaping the benefits and are in high positions.

He breathed new life into the health sector by making quality treatment available to the poorer sections through Aarogyasri and the ambulance services have saved many lives. He has built 43 lakhs houses in the State which is just a shade less than the total number of houses built across “All these welfare measures were rolled out for five years without increasing power charges, bus fares or imposing new taxes and he looked beyond Party and other affiliations while implementing the schemes. Earlier, she left her Lotus Pond residence in the morning with the Party Telangana President P Srinivas Reddy and other state leaders accompanying her. They were accorded a warm welcome at Mal from where the first day of the Yatra began in Nalgonda district.
