YS Jagan turns emotional seeing plight of Girijans

Rajamahendravaram: YSR Congress workers and leaders gave a rousing welcome to YSR Congress Party president and leader of Opposition in AP Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district on Thursday. Scores of of girijans welcomed YS Jagan at Madhurapudi airport in the city as part of the two-day tour in the district. He toured several villages in the district in the span of eight and half hours learning about the problems being faced by the people. At the same time, YS Jagan took time in criticising the inept policies adopted by the Chandrababu Naidu government in the State. YS Jagan met the villagers affected by the Polavaram Project at Devipatnam in Rampachodavaram mandal in the district.

He spoke to the people in Rajavommangi mandal which recently came to light with high child mortality rate. After listening to the victims patiently for more than an hour, YS Jagan assured them of providing necessary help from the party. He said that he would ensure that the problems in the villages are solved at the earliest. Interacting with the Girijans in the agency areas, YS Jagan recalled that people's leader late YSR  had given the Tribals to enjoy the rights of more than 8 lakh acres in the State. The YSRCP chief demanded that the State government should ensure fair compensation according to the Land Acquisition Act. The landless tribals should be provided with the equal land they are losing as part of the Polavaram Project.

YS Jagan instilled confidence among the tribal brothers by promising them of justice soon after coming to the power in 2019 elections.
The YSRCP chief was moved by the way they narrated about the families losing children in birth due to malnutrition and unavailability of proper medical care. In Rajavommangi mandal alone, 13 babies died in birth. While YS Jagan consoling the victims, the families and kids cling on to him wailing inconsolably. YS Jagan regretted saying Chandrababu Naidu has no humanity in coming to the rescue of the victims in the agency areas. He turned emotional after seeing the mother who had lost her child soon after she delivered. At one point, YS Jagan could not speak even a word after listening and seeing their pain and anguish.
