Trust on Kommalapati backfired

  • Purchased land: 42 acres
  • Cost price: Rs.1.26 crore
  • Present value: Rs.210 crore
  •  Here is another instance for Chandrababu’s misuse of power and TDP leaders’ brutal behaviour in capital area. Owner of Abhinandana Housing Pvt. Ltd. and MLA of Pedakurapadu Kommalapati Sridhar is denying to finish the registration of the lands near Mangalagiri that were sold to 3000 people seven years back. Upon the Government’s announcement that capital would be set up in this area, he simply decided to deceive his customers. He is denying to give the plots they bought. As an MLA of the ruling party, he pressurized the party president and successfully let 42 acres of worth Rs.210 crore escape from being acquired. In exchange Lokesh received huge portions of the property.

     Ruling power to help deception

MLA Pedakurapadu of Guntur district Kommalapati Sridhar devised real estate ventures around Vijayawada, Guntur in the name of Abhinandana Housing Pvt. Ltd. and started selling plots by instalments. The same organization bought 42 acres of land under survey numbers 485 to 500 adjoining Amaravathi Township in Yarrabalem. Rs.25000 was paid as membership fees followed by instalments. Having started selling plots in 2009, the organization collected full instalments by 2012. Many of the members were called defaulters for not paying just one instalment. People who paid amount in full also did not get the properties registered. Meanwhile lands in Yarrabalem were included in land acquisition. So permission for the venture froze. When the depositors who paid full amount approached the company, they were falsely promised that they would be offered plots in a different venture in order to save the company from disgrace but the promise was never kept. Thus the organization performed deceptive play of worth Rs.15 crore in Yarrabalem venture alone.

    Escape from acquisition

The Government did not miss a single chance in its attempts to threaten majority of the farmers of Yarrabalem village. But Abhinandana real estate escaped the inclusion of its 42 acres of land in acquisition as well as mention in draft master plan. It is rumoured that the reason behind this is pressure from Chandrababu. It is heard that these lands have been exempted in order to be used for creation of a ‘mega city’ in the capital. The organization is getting ready to announce ‘Mega City ’ as the first private real estate soon after the release of the final master plan. Chandrababu is proactive in getting CRDA approval for this. It is word of the mouth of TDP leaders that Lokesh received major portions of this.

Upon demand for CRDA deputy collector Lalita Kumari’s explanation over this issue, she said that the 42 acres under survey numbers 485 and 500 were included in the acquisition and that it was informed to higher officials that they had not yet been submitted. CRDA commissioner Srikanth denied to respond regarding this.
