In yet another example of Andhra Pradesh government's failure, personal data of Aadhaar Card Holders were leaked through the official websites maintained by the state.
The details of nearly 1.3 lakh card holders were leaked on Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation website. If anyone typed DALITS on the search engine, the personal data of the individuals who applied to avail government benefits were disclosed.
The details of Muslim individuals were also leaked through government website. The leak of personal data on community basis on websites confirmed the state government was exploiting Aadhar details of people for political reasons.
Though Supreme Court warned governments not to reveal personal information since it deemed to be violation privacy, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu instructed all the departments to collect people’s personal data and use it for political reasons. It was not new that AP government failed in preserving the data of Aadhaar Card Holders.
The beneficiaries personal details of Employment Guarantee Programme and Chandranna scheme were also leaked directly from the dash board managed by Chief Minister Office. The privacy acts already warned three years imprisonment if any found leaked Aadhaar Card Holders details.
