Copy cats can’t become tigers: Sharmila

Kurnool, Nov 22, 2012: Sharmila, who has been undertaking Maro Praja
Prasthanam Padayatra on behalf of YSR Congress Party Chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan
Reddy, described TDP president Chandrababu Naidu as a copy cat and said copy
cats can’t become tigers.
Addressing huge public
meetings at Kurnool on Wednesday during the course of her Padayatra, Sharmila
told people that YSR undertook Padayatra in 2003 to know the people’s problems and
introduced welfare schemes like free power supply, Arogya Sri, 108, fee
reimbursement and old age pension after coming to power.
“But, Chandrababu Naidu
who mocked at the schemes then, is now promising the same schemes to the people
like a copy cat,” Sharmila observed, adding that copycats would remain copycats
only. They can’t become tigers, she said sarcastically.
Sharmila said Congress
came to power at the Centre and in the state thanks to YSR and asked the
Congress leadership whether it was not atrocious on their part to try to depict
YSR as an accused.
Kurnool turned into a
sea of humanity as Sharmila arrived in the town to a rousing reception and
women and children competed with each other to shake hands with her giving
tough time to the security men.
Sharmila addressed two
public meetings in the town in the morning and evening and people listened to
her speech with rapt attention with clasps on and off.
