Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's official foreign tours drew no response from the investors to set up industries in the new state of Andhra . The CM conducted 13 foreign tours ever since he assumed the office in 2014. During his four to five day stay in the countries, Chandrababu met several investors and also entered agreements. Practically, not a single investor came to Andhra and set up the industires.
All the existing foreign investors set up their manufacturing and IT industries came to ANdhra only during former Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy's regime. Chandrababu always claimed to promote the state as 'Navya ANdhra' but it was still on papers as not a single work was grounded towards achieving the goal set by the CM.
To the worse, Chandrababu went on America tour between May 4 and 11 last year when the chilli farmers revolted against the government for not providing remunerative price to their produce. The opposition leader and YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy fought tooth and nail against the government on farmers demands . With YS Jagan's uncompromising struggle, the union government responded .
This time, Indian Meteorological Department warned of heavy rains in Andhra in the next week. Standing crops already dithered due to incessant rains in Rayalaseema region recently. The opposition party leaders charged Chandrababu with failed to rescue the distressed farming community by going on foreign trips. The CM is scheduled to take up America, London and Dubai tour from October 26.
