YSR Congress Party on Thursday said the Congress and main opposition TDP have been working in tandem to defame YS Jagan Mohan Reddy which can be vouched by leaders of the two parties camping in Delhi simultaneously.

“We can understand Chief Minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief BotsaSatyanarayana along with other leaders being summoned by Congress High Command, but TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu too staying put in Delhi on the very same day cannot be a mere coincidence,” party spokesperson JupudiPrabhakarRao told reporters here.

Chandrababu Naidu, after holding a dharna on the hike in power charges-though belatedly—at an electric sub-station close to Samshabad airport, leaves for Delhi hours after the state Congress contingent takes a flight to the national capital.

What conspired between Chandrababu Naidu and the Congress leaders or whom did the TDP leader meet and what he sought and what he was offered in return will be known in due time, he said.

“We do not believe in coincidences. Though Naidu has the right to go to Delhi or to any other place of his choice, the timing raises many doubts that too when the popularity of the two parties is on the slide in the State,” he said.

The point to be noted here is that Chandrababu Naidu during his dharna, did not use the platform to criticise the State Government, instead he made a scathing attack on our party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy all the time.

The relevance of the dharna was lost as he took up the agitation a day after YSRC, TRS and Left parties held protests and demanded roll back of hiked tariff. The main opposition TDP, which woke up with the thunderous response other parties evoked with the dharna, tried to emulate them but people cannot be fooled all the time.

The memories of Chandrababu Naidu’s 9-year rule and his priorities are still fresh in the minds of the people, he said and took strong objection to Naidu’s remarks on YS Jagan during the dharna he held at Gaganpahad electric sub-station.

“When you are protesting against a policy decision of the Government your ire should be on the State and not on an individual like YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. This only shows the frustration Naidu is undergoing after its successive defeats in the by-elections,” he said.

NallaSuryaprakash, who was also present at the press conference, said that Chandrababu Naidu was demanding Bharat Ratna to Babujagjivan Ram should have shown the same concern when he was playing a key role in the NDA government.
