Hyderabad, March 11: Rubbishing the sustained propaganda of TDP about merger, YSR Congress has said that it has no such need as it is poised to win the 2014 elections hands down and emerge as a key player in the national politics.
“The leader of Opposition, has been repeatedly spreading the lie that YSRCP will merge with Congress and has been distorting our honorary president YS Vijjayamma’s statement only to create confusion as his future looks very bleak,” party official spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said.
To divert the attention and create some confusion, Naidu has been forcing this malicious opinion on the eve of the second anniversary of the YSR Congress Party.
This effort shows that political parties are scared of YSR Congress as TDP, TRS and Congress are facing an imminent defeat in the ensuing election. The popularity graph of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is on the rise and political parties are unable to come to grips with reality, he said.
“What our leader said is, we will emerge as a force to reckon with and will be in a position to play an important role in the national politics after 2014. We will not certainly support fundamentalist BJP, and will explore the other options available as and when the need arise keeping the State’s interests in view.”
In her interview to a national business daily, YS VIjaymma has categorically said that there would be no pre-poll alliance with any party. The post poll situation is not predictable but our stand is clear, in the interest of state, we will extend our support to any non-BJP dispensation.
Chandrababu Naidu has been distorting this version and has been propagating that we will join Congress. If that be the case, why should our leader be so long in jail, why are we fighting day in and day out against Congress and its policies,” he said.
While we are fighting for the people’s cause, being leader of the opposition, Chandrababu Naidu has been shirking responsibility. Though all sections of the society are badly affectedly by the anti-people policies of the Congress government with severe power cuts, steep hike in power charges, spiraling costs, taxes and bus fares, TDP leader has opted not to come to the Assembly for its budget session sitting.
“This shows that he too has no concern for people’s plight on one hand and is committed to the tacit understanding with Congress to safeguard its Kiran Kumar Reddy government by not moving the no-confidence motion. It is very clear since long going by the sequence of events right from TDP leaders meeting Finance Minister P Chidambaram, abstaining from voting on FDI and many such issues that the two parties are hand in glove,’ he said.
On the no-confidence motion he said, if Chandrababu Naidu assures that all his MLAs will support, we have no objection to move a no confidence motion. The TDP leader has succumbed to pressure from Delhi Congress and fears that he has to face the consequences for his corruption charges. This is one reason as to why he is staying away from moving the no-trust vote.
On the other hand, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has defied the Congress and valiantly fighting the Congress, he said.
Our Party will complete its two years of existence on Tuesday and we have grown from strength to strength winning two Parliament and 17 assembly seats and the response to our party is overwhelming all over the state, he said.
