CM, Naidu have no relevance

Press Release

Hyderabad, August 8,
2013: Coming down heavily on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Leader of
Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu for slipping into hibernation when political
tremors of a great magnitude are running amok in the state, YSR Congress has
said such indecision will prove costly to the two parties at the hustings.

“While Congress has
unilaterally taken the decision to split the state, the TDP President has been
maintaining a low profile as he has compromised with the Centre on various
issues to save his skin. Keeping personal interests ahead of the people’s
interests the two parties are responsible for the turmoil in the state,” party
Deputy Floor Leader Bhuma Sobha Nagi Reddy told reporters here on Tuesday.

While Seemandhra is
burning with students, employees and other sections of the people taking to
streets and agitating against the injustice being meted out by the unilateral
decision of Centre, Delhi has appointed a high-power committee heading AK
Antony to resolve the crisis.

“This is again the
streak arrogance of the Congress Party. Can two persons decide the future and
fortunes of nine-crore people? This is not an internal issue of Congress Party.
The issue concerns people of the state. All stake holders should have been
consulted before taking the decision. That was our Party stand which was not
heeded to by the Centre.

When that was not done
and Congress leaders fail to question the leadership and people will teach them
a fitting lesson in the next elections. Union Minister Pallam Raju expressing
shock that the Government did not expect such a wild reaction is nothing but
his lack of grasp of the sentiment of the people of Seemandhra, she said.

TDP MPs have been
enacting resignation drama after their leader was caught napping on the issue
and leaders of the two Parties are now trying to hijack the movement by
throwing hat in the ring but people will not believe them as their true colours
are exposed.

The future looks
uncertain and the situation is slipping out of hands for Congress and TDP as Y S
Jagan mohan Reddy along with his Party is getting good response and YSR
sentiment is sweeping across the state. They wanted to eke out political
mileage by the bifurcation but the logistics were not worked out properly, she
said.

Slamming Telangana
ministers for time and again giving assurances about the safety of Seemandhra
people, she said “we are not at the mercy of anyone. We have equal rights on
the state capital and we can fight it out.”

Digvijay Singh
statement that we will develop a capital in Seemandhra cannot be relied on as
we have seen the development that took place in the three new states carved out
in the recent past.Congress has to pay the price and TDP has lost its relevance
in the state political affairs, she said.

On Harish Rao’s
statement criticising Sharmila remarks, she said, “It was KCR who was giving
provocative statements and Sharmila had only replied to the TRS leader in a
matching tone.”

KCR’s statement has
created insecurity among the people of seemandhra living in the state capital
and Sharmila was only replying to his provocative speeches in a fitting manner.

On Union Minister Kotla
Suryaprakash Reddy’s statement seeking the division of Rayalaseema, she said,
it is not fair and a demand should be put forth for the development of the
entire region.
