YSR’s was golden rule: Sharmila

April 10, 2013: Dr. YSR undertook the historic Praja Prasthanam Padayatra 10
years ago to boost up the morale and confidence of the people who were reeling
under the demonic rule of Chandrababu Naidu, Smt. Y.S. Sharmila told people at
Puttagunta on Tuesday.

Interacting with people
at a Rachchabanda programme during the course of her walkathon, she said
thousands of farmers committed suicide during the Naidu regime unable to bear
the brunt of harassment over non-payment of power bills and loans.

.”YSR undertook Praja
Prasthanam to meet the distressed farmers and the poor personally to know their
suffering and rekindle their confidence,” she said, adding YSR came to the
rescue of the poor and the farming community by implementing several welfare
programmes after coming to power.  

YSR gave a golden rule
to the people without imposing any financial burden on the people during his
regime, she said and added: “YSR over ruled objections from friends and well
wishers who asked him not to venture on the walkathon in the scorching summer
heat. He undertook the Padayatra like a Maha Yagnam to be with the people in
their difficult times.”

Smt. Sharmila drew a
parallel between the present Congress regime led by Kiran Kumar Reddy and that
of Chandrababu Naidu and said people are unable to pay the power bills now as
in Naidu’s regime. “In some cases, people are selling away Mangala Sutrams to
pay power bills,” she observed.

Smt. Sharmila asked
people not to lose heart as the day is not far off when Rajanna Rajyam will
come back to give a golden rule.

trees on the banks of a lake at Puttagunta on the eve of YSR’s Praja Prasthanam
completing ten years on Tuesday.
