YSRCP resents negligence of farm sector

Warangal, March 30, 2013:
Senior leaders of YSR Congress Party, who visited the withered crops in the
Janagaon division of Warangal district and the distressed weavers in Sircilla
of Karimnagar district, warned the Government over its continued negligence of
the farm sector.

Addressing a press conference
at Warangal after their visit to the withered crops and witnessing the plight
of the weavers Friday evening, party leaders Konatala Ramakrishna, Bajireddy
Govardhan, KK Mahendar Reddy, Kommuri Pratap Reddy and Mekapati Chandrasekhara
Reddy said the Government has been continuously displaying a lackadaisical
approach towards the farmers and weavers.

“We will not keep quiet if
this negligence of farm sector continues,” they warned the Government.

While Chandrababu Naidu said
agriculture was a waste and had completely neglected the farming community,
Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has also been following Naidu’s footsteps and implementing
his words by not supplying power for agricultural purposes even for four hours
a day.

“Farmers do not know when they
would get power and when they would lose it and are incurring heavy financial
losses after investing Rs.15,000 to Rs.20,000 per acre for different crops
after expecting 7-hour power supply a day,” Konatala Ramakrishna said.

During their visits to the withered paddy and maize fields at
Inapur and Gagillapur villages, several farmers complained to the YSRCP leaders
that Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah had not bothered to visit the fields even once
and inquire about their welfare.

Taking objection to Ponnala’s remarks that farmers in Janagao
constituency were not affected by power cuts, Kommuri Pratap Reddy asked the
Minister to visit the villages to know the truth.
