YSRCP to take up turncoats’ cabinet berth on ntl. canvas
04 Apr 2017 5:26 PM
Hyderabad: YSR Congress would
take the issue of induction of defected MLAs into AP cabinet on a national
canvas and will meet the President and leaders of all political parties to
highlight the undemocratic act that Chandrababu Naidu has resorted to ignoring
moral value and constitutional provisions.
Speaking to reporters here on
Tuesday, Party senior leader and MP YV Subba Reddy said:’ we are seeking an
appointment of the President and we will submit a memorandum narrating the
horse-trading and the eventual cabinet berth to turncoats which is against the
letter and spirit of constitution.
We will also try to get the appointment
of Prime Minister and will meet leaders of all political parties to pitch-fork
the issue on a national canvas.’
It is unethical on part of Chandrababu
Naidu to induct defected MLAs into the cabinet without asking them to resign
their MLA posts and he himself has raked up the issue on a moral plank when
Telangana Government has done the same with TDP.
The double standards have been
thoroughly exposed and is in full public glare and will get national attention
with our Delhi trip where we will be meeting important people and tell the
nation about how blatantly Chandrababu Naidu has been violating the
constitutional provisions.
Of late there has been a talk that the
four defected MLAs had submitted their resignations but it came to light only
after the issue drew all-round flak. If they had quit the resignations must be
accepted and it must have been categorically told before inducting them in the
cabinet, he said.
Article 164 (1) clearly says that the
Governor appoints the Chief Minister who recommends the names of his cabinet
and their credentials are subject to the scrutiny of the Governor.
We will also hold a dharnas on April 7
in all Assembly constituencies to highlight the violation of constitution in
Andhra Pradesh to draw the national attention, he said.
