YSRCP seeks security To YS Jagan's padayatra

The YSRCP on Thursday asked Andhra Pradesh DGP to provide security to its chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra from Idupulapaya to Ichchapuram as he is a Z Category Protectee.
The party shot off a missive to the DGP in view of the statements by the DGP and Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala China Rajappa that permission was mandatory for the yatra. It also pointed out that as the leader of the Opposition, Chandrababu Naidu did not seek any permission when he undertook his padayatra during 2012-13.
The Praja Sankalpa Yatra will begin on November 6 and will cover a distance of 3000 km across the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh. The Yatra aims to reach out to the most marginalized segments of AP wherein YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would interact with over two crore people of the state.
In his letter to the state police chief, Jaganmohan Reddy's private secretary P Krishna Mohan Reddy said: "This padayatra will be spanning over a period of seven months approximately, with regular night halts at an interval of 15 to 16 km every day. You may be aware that YS Jaganmohan Reddy is a 'Z' category protectee, hence, I request that necessary security arrangements are to be made."
